- <p> There were no helicopters, no parachutists and no
- paparazzi, but the wedding of flaky pop star CYNDI LAUPER to
- actor DAVID THORNTON last week was just as colorful as Liz
- Taylor's nutty nuptials. Little Richard performed the ceremony.
- Paul ("Pee-wee Herman") Reubens videotaped it. Lauper's maid of
- honor was her 90-year-old grandmother, which is why Lauper kept
- paparazzi away ("I didn't want to spook her"). There was even
- a hitch in the hitching: Lauper couldn't get the wedding ring
- on her gloved finger. Silly Cyndi! And don't expect married life
- to make her less zany. Says Lauper: "I don't feel different."
- That's a relief.
