  17. <p>     There were no helicopters, no parachutists and no
  18. paparazzi, but the wedding of flaky pop star CYNDI LAUPER to
  19. actor DAVID THORNTON last week was just as colorful as Liz
  20. Taylor's nutty nuptials. Little Richard performed the ceremony.
  21. Paul ("Pee-wee Herman") Reubens videotaped it. Lauper's maid of
  22. honor was her 90-year-old grandmother, which is why Lauper kept
  23. paparazzi away ("I didn't want to spook her"). There was even
  24. a hitch in the hitching: Lauper couldn't get the wedding ring
  25. on her gloved finger. Silly Cyndi! And don't expect married life
  26. to make her less zany. Says Lauper: "I don't feel different."
  27. That's a relief.
